The other organisation who supports and advocates for cyclists in Victoria and Australia wide is Cycling Australia.

Although Cycling Australia may appear to be more focused on the racing side of cycling they still have a lot to offer the recreational cyclist and they do offer a recreational membership and recreational rides.

He turned away the good old horse that served him many days;
He dressed himself in cycling clothes, resplendent to be seen;
He hurried off to town and bought a shining new machine;
And as he wheeled it through the door, with air of lordly pride,
The grinning shop assistant said, “Excuse me, can you ride?”……

  • Electric Bikes (E-bikes) are a cool, fun and simple way to get back riding two wheels. As the name suggests, E-bikes have an integrated electric motor that assist riders with propulsion. With only minimal pedaling but all the normal perks of a standard bike, you’ll be zooming up those big hills in no time! If you are in StKilda you could stop in at Melbourne Electric Bicycles and rent one.
