Nature Stewards 2020 has been full of new adventures online as we have navigated COVID19 restrictions, to deliver seven programs across the State! Thank you to our incredible facilitators Rusty, Nicole, and Glenn, and many specialist presenters, for delivering the program with great success in this new format. It has been wonderful to welcome our new volunteer staff to the Nature Stewards team – Marcus, Rebecca, Mark K, Mark B, and Estelle, thank you for your support of our alumni and the program! We have welcomed over 100 alumni to the ranks this year and look forward to adding more in 2021 and catching up via alumni events and through volunteering opportunities. We are continually blown away by the actions our alumni are taking at home, online, within their communities, through further learning, and careers in the environmental sector, keep up the great work!
It was a great honour to be recognised in the environment scene around the world this year. We won the ‘Outstanding Education Materials’ Award at the annual ANROSP Conference in the United States, together with being a finalist in the Environment Education Victoria Awards for ‘Community Educator or the Year’! Thank you to our wonderful advisory group and supporters for bringing this program to Victoria in support of our community and nature.
Finally, we are thrilled to announce two new programs for autumn 2021 – Whittlesea and the North West Hub (City of Melton, Hume city Council, and Macedon Ranges Shire)! It will be super to explore these new areas and meet the local community!
From the Nature Stewards team, we wish you a Merry Christmas and much time in nature in the new year!
