Metropolitan Melbourne moves to revised COVIDSafe Settings on 6:00pm Tuesday 25 May 2021
Some new restrictions have been put in place due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in Melbourne.
We’re happy to advise that camps and excursions can still continue to take place, as long as staff and students observe the face mask requirements.
- This means that for staff and students from metropolitan schools, the face mask requirements follow the staff and students into regional Victoria while attending camps or outdoor activities.
- Camps can follow existing guidelines there need be no changes to density quotients. This means a large group booking at a venue can go ahead as long as there is a covid safe plan and QR code system in place.
- Staff and students travelling from regional Victoria to a camp/outdoor activity in metropolitan Melbourne will need to observe the face mask requirements while in the metropolitan area.
With regards to non school groups, the current directions for metropolitan Melbourne can be found here: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covidsafe-settings
Note that the rules just apply to Greater Melbourne – rules for regional Victoria have not changed, and travel between the city and the rest of the state remains free and open for now.
- Public gatherings are limited to 30 people for Metropolitan Melbourne but events such as community group camps can still go ahead as long as masks are worn indoors and you have a COVID Safe Plan together with an operational QR code system.
We’ll keep you updated if there are any changes that might affect you directly!
